WHAT IS THE LEAGUE FILE?

The “League File” is merely a backup of the league that was created by the league commissioner. This file is the one used to create all of the pregame files and the league stats. The commissioner shares the league file with the other league members by backing up the league in the League Manager program and making the backup file available to all league members. You are not required to install the league in your League Manager program. You can play all of your games just fine using only the PRE files, but having the league installed in your League Manager program enhances your experience. You have immediate access to your team’s stats. You are also able to see the depth charts of the other teams in your league which aids in scouting your opponents. You will also need the league file to create a COACH profile.

The commissioner will make available a new League File at the end of each quarter at a minimum. There will also be an updated league file available either upon request, or randomly posted as the commissioner has time. When you have imported your league into the League Manager program, you will have access to many reports not included on our web page, including some that offer an in-depth analysis of each coach’s offensive tendencies. You also have access to the league’s database, so you can create your own reports, using the native Report Writer in the League Manager program, to provide details not otherwise available in the website reports and stats.

DOWNLOADING THE LEAGUE FILE

1. Go to either the www.uswfl.com website or Yahoo groups http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/USWFL/files/ website and find the link to our league’s League File.

2. Click on the link and select SAVE.

3. You can save the League File anywhere on your computer but I recommend the Strat-O-Matic Football folder. This is the default folder that the League Manager program uses when creating and accessing backup files. Remember, the League File is a backup of the league made on the commissioner’s computer.

INSTALLING (RESTORING) THE LEAGUE FILE

1. Start the League Manager program.

2. Click on LEAGUE, and then click on RESTORE LEAGUE.

3. Find the league file, select it by clicking on it, and then click on OPEN. The league will be installed (restored) on your computer. If you don’t have access to the season or seasons used in the league, you will be prompted to enter the product code for the season or seasons.

INSTALLING THE PRE FILES

1. Go to Yahoo groups http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/USWFL/files/ website and find the link to your team's PRE file

2. Click on the link and select SAVE

3. Insure that the league file you wish to use for the quarter has been restored (Installed)

4. You can save and unzip the PRE File anywhere on your computer but I recommend the Strat-O-Matic Football/receive folder. This is the default folder that the program uses to create games .

Note: If you wish to restore a current league file as they are made available, make sure you "resave the PRE files for the games you haven't played in the receive folder again.

CREATING A COACH PROFILE

Every owner will have the opportuinty to create a COACH file and send the file to the commissioner. A COACH file contains all of your depth chart assignments as well as your game settings and computer managers (optional). If a Coach profile is not sent in, the commission will create a generic profile from the depth chart sent in at seasons start.

1. Go to League manager

2. Go to team, then computer manager.

3. Set up your offense and defense lineups, you can adjust your default CM, but since we are playing on line it doesn't matter.

4. Once finished, close window and go to League and export coach file. It will give you a warning pop up, but that is for the commish.

5. send the COACH file to the commish. It can be found in the C:/Strat o Matic Football/send directory.

6. Coach files need to be sent to commish before the PRE files are created, or the changes won't take place.

EXTRA CONTENT TO MAKE YOU GAME LOOK "COOL!

If you download any of my created extra content then follow these simple instructions to install it. Put all the fc (field center files)and end zone EZ files into the c:/Strat o matic football/graphics/Teams folder. Put the player icons files into the c:/Strat o matic football/graphics/players folder. Then you can go to the league manager and under team notebook click on the "INFO" button. This brings up a screen you can select your midfield logo (the _fc file for your team, your endzone, the _EZ file and your home and away player uniform icon files. If you really want to you can create a WAV file to use for when you score to play!

To install the custom scoreboard you first need to backup your existing scoreboard directory or it will be written over. I just change the current directory to scoreboard2 to avoid confusion. Then copy all the scoreboard files (if you want to change the number font) or just copy the scoreboard.bmp file into the scoreboard directory c:/Strat o matic football/graphics/scoreboard This will overwrite the current file and the next time you start the game you will have a new scoreboard.

HOW TO SET UP A LEAGUE GAME

First you need to know your IP information. IP is basiclly a routing number to identify your computer. It is broken into 4 sections separated by a period. To find your "true" IP address open a windows browser and go to this website. http://wwww.whatismyip.com Your IP address will be big and bold in blue letters in the center of the page. There is explanation of what IP is on this page if you feel like reading. The address you get from your home computer that starts with 192. is not the one to use. If you are using Hamachi your IP will start with a 5 and it is found on the Hamachi network connection screen.

WHAT IS HAMACHI?

Hamachi is a VPN (Vitural Private Network) software, that connects a group of computers in a single network. (16 max using the free unmanaged download) What this means is that Hamachi simulates a direct "wire" connection from one computer to another, that is in the same network. This removes the need to open ports, set router forwarding and any other internet issue that causes connection failures.

HOW TO INSTALL AND USE HAMACHI

1. Download the Unmanaged version of Hamachi from the website, and run the install program. https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/download.aspx

2. Launch the program. From the Networks header, choose Join an existing Network.

3. Put in the network name. We use uswfl of 2009uswfl. But any network can be created and/or used. Make the password the same as the network name. To keep things simple. Be aware it is case senstive.

4. This should put a little green dot on the chosen network. You should be able to see your opponents login name and IP address.

5. Your IP address will be on the top of the Hamachi followed by your login name. All IP's will start with a 5.

POST GAME.. WHAT FILES DO I SEND TO THE COMMISH?

Please send the POST can be found in the send folder, looks like 2010ARZ_AT_2010NJG.POST

the boxscore file, can be found in the league(2011_USWFL)/week x/reports/ folder. It will be a HTML file: 2010ARZ_AT_2010NJG.html
